You can get aircraft quality birch plywood from A/C Spruce or Wicks or any
other supplier. It is cheaper and heavier than Mahogany and I have used it.
I would not attempt to cut corners on plywood even on my tight budget.

I have used construction styrofoam on rebuilding my wings. I'm not sure if
this is the same type of styrofoam you are refering to but it works for me.
With styrofoam use only epoxy resin because styrofoam is not compatable with
