There are a few builders still active. I'm one of them. The designer, Scott
Watts, is absent and slows progress quite a bitas there are my design gaps.
I've finished construction and am now in the "hook-up" phase. I'd like to get
the beast ready by fall. We'll see

I have a pair of O'brien wheels and axels so I'm probably going to use their
brakes. Down side is 1,200 lb max gross. So, I'd like feedback as well.

I suggest you search out a skydiving drop zone near you. The staff there
will be glad to give you expert knowledge, let you try on chutes and even
give you instructions on how to get out, get stable and land. You may
event want to try a tandem jump just to get the feeling.

What do you hope to accomplish with it during 2013?
I was hoping to finish building by fall but there are just too many tasks
and not enough time so I'm hoping for spring 2014. Meanwhile, I'll
construct the landing gear, ailerons, flaps, flight controls and motor
mount.

I've started building a KR, I no long need those plans. If you know of
anyone looking for a set, I'm willing to sell mine at a reasonable price

is it's cheap - only thing you buy is battery acid and some aluminum wire.
You can also dye your finished parts any color you like. Down side is that
working with acid is troublesome and messy.

inch thick so replacing the wood KR2S box structure wouldn't be easy and
mounting the landing gear would also require much work. So, I believe you'd
be much better off building the spar per KR2 plans. If you like to learn
