I'd be open for that.

Thanks Mark I could not agree more you are so right on this subject I have

Maybe I'm not too bright, but isn't Whitman (sp) field (OSH) open all year
round? If EAA is open to the idea, why not see if they will "host" a KR
gathering at some other time than the circus (AirVenture). There is plenty
of real estate/camping and amenities, 'town' is not far away and the museum

Last year was my first year to attend. I thought the get-together was
excellent. This year's event hasn't happened but it sounds like Rob is
doing a great job. I won't for to this year's event but will in 18'. I live
in SW Missouri and I thought about hosting in 19. However maybe someone

Some other groups host a fly-in near Oshkosh as an alternative to Oshkosh, but
also close enough that the members can hop over to Oshkosh for a day or two if
they choose. For example, the SuperCub crowd does a great Fly In over an New

We have a "KR Builders and Pilots Forum" every year at OSH, and it's
published in the EAA forum schedule a month in advance. I'd say the
average number of new "KR tire-kickers
I lost track of how many times I've been to Oshkosh/ S&F as an attendee, a
participant and a commercial exhibitor. While it is a commonly attended venue,
it's also a zoo. There are so many foci as to distract even a monk.
And I think that's the very best thing of the -two- and only two KR Gather
Also, by moving the gathering around the country, I think that has to mean
something outside the mid-west. How about Maine, Florida, Arizona, Washington,
CA etc.?

Flying into OSH is quite easy - though it does require reading the AirVenture
NOTAM, and then just doing it.
I’ve flown in eight times in the last 30 years in a Cessna 140, a Bellanca
Viking, an Osprey 2, a Cavalier, and a Beechcraft Bonanza. I find it easier
to fly into than almost any regi
Sorry, bad idea.
I have attended both regularly for several years with my KR, so I think I am
qualified to comment.
OSH is really not a good venue for a KR Gathering. Flying in/out is a challenge
many KR pilots don't want to tackle it. That is partly why so few show up
there. And don't think a
Disclaimer: I have not attended a KR Gathering and I’m sure I’d love it if I
did.
For the last few years I have been lamenting the decline of "Experimental
Aviation" at AirVenture. It feels like experimental and homebuilt have become
less than a sideshow at OSH - perhaps just an afterthought

I thought that in 2016 that we agreed that every other year (even years) we
would have our gathering at Mt. Vernon, IL. If that is correct can we
discuss 2019 at this years meeting?
Thanks

Wow! A BUNCH of people registered for the Gathering yesterday so WELCOME to
you all!
Plus Mike Sylvester is now planning to fly his new KR to the party so that
makes 12 airplanes.
Don't miss this one!
