LOL, I came a cross a plane that used alot of duct tape to hide seems and
stuff, oh and they painted over it, it looked like #$#$#.
Guess no worse then whomever used roofing nails and staples to hold a piece
of alumn foil used as a firewall for the plane I took over.

No apology necessary. I was just trying to let you know that you are
probably headed for an agonizing experience if you really want to use
Kevlar. That's what we do here on KRnet...

Mark Langford,
It looks like I need to apologize. I had not intended to offend you
in any way and my second question was not a challenge to your authority. It
was intended as a segway to further the dialogue. I also apologize for
presenting what seemed to extol the virtues of Kevlar. I had
Larry,
Thank you for your advice. I guess I'm a tinkerer like probably
anyone who sets off to build ...well...anything. And yeah your right it
looks like the original design produced a fine airframe. Why change it?

No, if you mean did I use a Kevlar veil. That one thread was more Kevlar
than I needed or wanted on the plane.
What you may be missing is that the real structure of a KR wing is the wood
spar underneath the skin. The skin's not g

I'm guessing you've never actually used Kevlar. The stuff is very diffiult
to cut, but the killer is that it's virtually impossible to s
I bought a KR2 kit and plan to use an epoxy with a 4.8 oz BID CF/Aramid.
Maybe I'm wrong. But this seems like a pretty good idea. From what I
understand either a CF/epoxy or Kevlar are both "stronger" than the original
Dynel/VE layup. That CF is both more rigid and has a much higher yield but

NOS is a high pressure gas that is delivered from steel pressure vessels
(think high pressure oxygen in an oxy-acetylene set up). It certainly is
not light and the hp increase probably would not be worth hauling the tank
and control servos and plumbing around after you have exhausted the gas.

Has anyone ever use NOS in a small qty to get maybe a 10-15 HP boost. It seems
that a dry system does not weigh much and it would be nice to get a little
boost when your at gross as long as you had an Air Fuel monitor to adj the
mixture. The system could be turned off after you reach 1000ft. A
