GNOME 2.20 is the latest stable version, I guess is better to start

Heya,
The playlist parser in Totem was split from the main Totem module, so
that it can be more easily updated on its own, and avoid upgrade
problems on distros.
The module is: totem-pl-parser
I've filed a bug against jhbuild to update its module sets:

I committed a patch to fix bug #482313[1] to the glib-2-14 branch of
glib.
Before this fix gregex used the non-translated strings returned by PCRE,
so this change doesn't break anything. See also [2]

I've branched gucharmap for GNOME 2.20; the branch name is gnome-2-20.
New development will go to svn trunk.
