Hi all . I have the file with the ACPI data dumped. Write to me to send the

Thank you guys.

That is not further surprising, as that has nothing to do with DOS in
general and VESA in particular. This is ONLY an issue with the lap
Ok guys, I will do it . Ok, tomorrow morning I will send it ( here is time
to sleep now ), and I will send it to anyone who wants help. To be honest,
this is a huge challenge for me . I have some knowledge on ASM,C , MSDOS (
int21 calls ...) and now I'm studying a book about how to develop a kernel
As a tiny and probably unimportant side note, I'd like to mention
that in modern notebooks, the row of F-keys tends to come configured
(via the BIOS setup) to respond to the "alternate Fn function"
primarily, without using the Fn modifier key. I.e., on such a machine

Hi!
While it is fun that ai can sketch things to program,
you should not expect it to be THAT smart. However, if
you manage to extract and disassemble your ACPI data,
then you can offer to share the file with people here
on the list who can have a look at it. It will be too
large to send to the
Hi.
I was playing with "debug" , just writing asm code and asking to chatgpt to
try enabling the external VGA by hand but I only got a freezing
computer.
Maybe this is a huge challenge to solve.

Hi!
Thank you for your answer Liam . I tried that , but it seems to work only
if it is running with an OS ( VGA Drivers Loaded)
On Windows or Linux loaded that works.
There is no way to clone the screen without that . So , I will forget it.

I don't know if this is of any help, but I seem to recall running DOS on an
old Dell laptop and pressing a key combination, (Fn and F8 possibly, but I
wouldn't put money on it) to switch to the external monitor. Being a HP,
the key would be different, (maybe F2) but it's got to be worth a try...

Probably won’t help but make sure the laptop is off, the power
supply/charger is connected to the laptop and is plugged into to the power
outlet. Also make sure the external monitor is plugged into the laptop’s
VGA port and the monitor is on.
Now leaving THE LAPTOP SCREEN AND THE MONITOR PLUGGED I
Hi Franco. Yes, I can turn on the computer with the laptop lid closed and
the vga conected to the screen, but I have the same problem.
Thank you for your answer. Really the laptop screen is too small and this
is unconfortable.

You have pretty much described the root of the problem.
The routing of video outputs is nowadays a function of the OS /

Hi all. I have an old laptop , HP Mini ( exactly this one : hp mini
"hstnn-i70c" ) . I installed FreeDos on it but my surprise was when I
plugged it in to an external monitor by VGA that did not turn on.
Even I closed the laptop waiting it will recognize the external VGA. But
nothing happened.
