Thanks for all of this and it does seem that Last.FM changed their api
in December which broke all the Last.FM and MPD programmes. As I
specifically want to use it with MPD, and am unable to at the moment, I
have just cancelled my subscription to Last.FM.
When and if, the programmes work with Last
I forgot to mention that there is one programme that is able to use Last.FM
out of the box, and its in the wheezy repos too - its 'Clementine' where
you sign into Last.FM once and it remembers it for the future.
Shame it doesn't work with MPD :(

I'm trying to get a bash script working from a cron job that will empty
trash of all files and directories that are older than $N [7 days in
this case]. This partly works but is very inefficient in that it
doesn't delete everything that is available to be deleted, just tends
to leave stuff with no

I've done some googling, and got it to work using this line 'rm -rf
/home/YOURUSERNAME/.local/share/Trash/files/*' but this just
blanket-empties the trash can without any care for retaining 7

Its become apparent today that all of my usb system is fscked! in that i
have to unplug and replug in the usb keyboard and mouse at bootup in
lightdm greeter before they can be used. And then I have to do the same
with 3 external hard drives. I also have a brand new printer that cannot be

I have a script for backing up my kindle when its first mounted, but
its not running on mounting, but *does* run when invoked manually! When

mount it in 'nemo' and access its SD card, and its internal SD card, but
it doesn't show up in 'mount' at the commandline. Its actually a
Samsung Galaxy 3 mobile phone with 16g of available internal memory and
