used software RAID 1 or 5 arrays with LVM on top. I've never had any

I've had similar problems with my nVidia 7050/630a chipset and Etch. If I
used the the stock 2.6.18 kernel, the screen filled up with those "Sata
link is down, taking too much time to respond." messages during boottime.
I think I didn't even see a prompt because it took too long to get there.

tting rid of it should sort this out,
otherwise wait for updates or compile kdelibs yourself.
If you have an old cupsys installed then that will be depending on libcupsys, so
uninstalling that before installing the new version should sort that out. Otherwise
I have no idea what's going on...

Well, I finally installed and (somewhat) configured debian linux
(potato).
My computer is a standalone dialup, and finaly set up fetchmail/exim/Pine
by typing
exim -bd
fetchmail
everytime i connect to the internet, are there better packages to use? is
there a more secure, easier way to check my ma

When I load from a boot disk (created by "format /s" at dos prompt in
Win95), fdisk doesn't work because it doesn't exist, thus
fdisk /MBR
doesn't work. If I try this in linux, it says MBR not found

I keep getting an error message telling me that I can't unmount my CD drive.
I mount it with
mount /dev/hdc /cdrom
and normally I am able to unmount it with
umount /dev/hdc /cdrom
but whatever I do:
umount /dev/hdc
or
umount /cdrom
or the first command, it tells me that the CDROM is in use

Thing is that I accidently downloaded the wrong netscape (v4.2 or something
similar) and it was 8 megs long so it took 2 hours on my humble 14.4
Anyway, it wouldn't work because the .deb installer is for 3.01 s

I think what they mean by *true* multitasking is:
1. Win95 is designed to make the program that you have 'active' (the top
program you are using at the time) work fastest and gives it max power while
the background tasks (the ones you've got open but aren't using at the

After going through the 'NT OS Loader + Linux mini-HOWTO,' I managed to dual
boot Linux and NT, but only using a boot floppy for Linux. Although I am
pleased that this time I installed Debian it didn't lock me out of NT, I
