Hi all, I've just installed Debian unstable on my notebook, and I am having problems getting apps to display accented characters (both console and X). The problem is not with displaying them: showcfont under the console and gcharmap under X display accented characters correctly. I believe it is a problem with inserting them. I have an Italian keyboard and I have selected
/usr/share/keymaps/i386/qwerty/it.kmap.gz as my boottime keyboard map for the console and my XF86Config-4 contains the following: Option "XkbRules" "xfree86" Option "XkbModel" "pc105" Option "XkbLayout" "it" Under the console I cannot type accented characters (I get funny inverted characters), while under X some apps work (Evolution, Mozilla), but others don't (gnome-terminal, gaim, gnumeric, etc.) When running Gdk apps I get the following message: Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by C library but my locale settings are as follows: LANG=C LC_CTYPE= LC_NUMERIC="C" LC_TIME="C" LC_COLLATE="C" LC_MONETARY="C" LC_MESSAGES="C" LC_PAPER="C" LC_NAME="C" LC_ADDRESS="C" LC_TELEPHONE="C" LC_MEASUREMENT="C" LC_IDENTIFICATION="C" LC_ALL= Can anyone help me ?
