I attempted to install Debian; and found myself (a newbie)
at a loss to know which modules to install. Where can I

Hi all,
After using Debian for a couple of months

Hi folks
Ok, this has gone beyond my knowledge of memory.
I wondered how much memory StarOffice 5.1 took -- and it appears to need
quite a bit, based on this display from top:
2:10am up 3 days, 3:12, 6 users, load average: 1.56, 1.64, 1.83

Yes,
I enabled support for PC-styled hardware when I recompiled the kernel
with modular support for the parallel port. I successfully used modconf
to insert the modules
parport
and
parport_pc
If I do an lsmod I get
debian:~# lsmod
Module Size Used by
parport_pc

long answer:

Virtanen, a friend of mine has similar problems -- his pentium II needs
mounting brackets to hold it to the motherboard, and he hasn't bought them
yet.
It might not help, but ... one never knows. :)

Hmm, I don't know this one, there is one in the non-free scilab package,
but maybe that is not what you mean. What does it do? I do know
