im looking for information on how to get any form
of mac (ati video card) to mirror the display to av

im running a ibook firewire but ill start from anywhere
ive googled it. not much results. maybe some X-genius

Hi all,
I recently installed kernel-image-2.6.6-powerpc in my
sarge system. It seemed to work fine but when I run
startx (gnome) and then push log out button, system hanged.
Only black console and not responding to any key nor mouse
click nor ping. I tried twice and got the same problem.

- are you behind a router by any chance? If yes, then try hooking the machine
up directly to the cable modem/DSL/broadband connection. Let me know if this

If I was you, and if nobody has any more useful advice, I would try
downloading the full Sarge CDs, instead of the net install. I think you only
need the first 2.
Anyone else got a better idea for this guy to get Debian installed?

That's actually hard to tell, Apple used the Radeon 7500 and the
PowerPC 750fx in a couple of iBook models. So there may be subtle
differences.

I decided to compile the 2.6 benh kernel. I downloaded the source using rsync
from mvista yesterday. The compile fails with the error below.. not sure what
the problem is.. Please let me know if there's a fix

Well... I dunno about "horrors" ;-) I think people tend to overstate these
things about Debian installation. The thing is, it won't auto-detect your
