问题出在格式化上的可能性比较大。
这块移动硬盘是在什么系统下格式化的呢？格式是？一直都没有成功挂载过么？
如果是在lin下格式化的，试试在win下格式化，别用ntfs格式。

You might want to use xcin for zh_TW locale. But simplified Chinese
is more common online these days.
I tried both and found chinput more convenient featurewise. My
Chinese class uses traditional Chinese, and I'm going to work with
Classical Chinese, for which I guess I'll need traditional

I always use unstable except at production server. I never have

基本亦不太困难:
1) 把kenerl下载, ln -s kernel-source-2.4.18 /usr/src/linux
/usr/src/linux 是比较常用的目录结构
2) 把补丁下载于/usr/src/patch-xxx
3) 在/usr/src上执行patch-xxx/xxx/patch
完成便可如常make menuconfig , make-kpkg kernel_image , dpkg -i kerne-

read man page for detail.
who can mount or not is base of -o user not -o uid, if you put defaults
in the 4'th it will
auto mount on boot up. man page should solve most of your problem here
