Hmm, I can't seem to get start-stop-daemon's --chuid flag to work (even

Fortunately the unstable nvidia driver package matches the kernel version
in Sarge.

I also see the spurious conffile questions reported in #399829. The
upgrade in question is in Etch from firefox 1.5.dfsg+1.5.0.7-2 to
iceweasel 2.0.0.1+dfsg-2 (I believe this is the first iceweasel package
to enter Etch).

If both packages are installed, the FeynMF from texlive-metapost will be
put under /usr/share/texmf-texlive, while that from the feynmf package will
be available under /usr/share/texmf. The latter directory takes precedence.

of course always create locally modified g77 packages (and have
already done so for our cluster running woody); it's just a little
inconvenient, and I'll have to do it again when we upgrade to sarge. If
you think it's unwise to change the default I certainly understand.

Step 7 is for picking up Recommends and/or removing unused obsolete
packages.
Users should take note of whatever gets removed in steps 3-7 (hopefully
not too much) that is still available in Etch, and reinstall it at the end.
