r-build-deps haven't acted since 2021, and the maintenance burden here
isn't worth any shipping, and there's still time to rea

I just installed glueviz for looking at #1083421, and it pulled in a
whole bunch of pytest packages. I looked at the astropy code, and
cannot see any reason for these to be required except when running
