This is being worked on but will probably not be ready for etch. Using
a fixed size is not that well adapted to complex languages rendering,
ufortunately, so another solution has to be found (and is worked on).

I no longer have access to any of the relevant hardware to test or
verify that this is fixed, so feel free to close the bug.

Hi Clint,
Since this bug was filed there have been fixes in both grub/lilo and in the
kernel that should fix this.
* There were a couple grub bugs, I don't have the references offhand. IIRC
there was one with the device.map not getting written with the proper

Hello,
I need some advice regarding this bug. Unforuntately i don't know
nothing about initramfs, and David Härdeman, the one who usually does
all the cryptsetup initramfs stuff, is unavailable currently.
Could somebody comment on this patch, so that the fix can make it into
etch in case that it
Tyler,
In http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=288034 you report problems
booting the 2.6.8 kernel on an older d-i on a dl360g3. This is known to be
working in more recent kernels/d-i's so you might want to try it again and
report back if it works.
Thanks,

Huh? I guess you must be referring to the graphical installer, but that
was also available in the original image you tried and never booted by

Late reply, sorry.
I'm not convinced this really is RC, especially not if the most severe
issue can be fixed in udev. For one, it is fairly easy to document and
fix by an admin based on that documentation.
It's only a real problem for remotely admined boxes, but you kind of do
expect admins of

I've tested this in vmware and it does make the cursor switch back
sometimes, but very unreliably.

This installation was done with the business-card daily-build for today
(Dec 29th), it went quite fine, but some things didn't behave as expected,
and thus I'm filing this report.
