We had a similar problem with our 2GM15 and we removed the cable and
lubricated. Another major aspect was that the bracket holding the cable near
the transmission shift lever was not properly aligned. Once we did these two
things is was very smooth.

On my C&C 32 with a traveler in front of the companion way we have installed a
main sheet fine tuner horizontally along the boom. We could probably clean it
up a bit but it works great.

There is a simple solution, telescoping poles should be visibly marked so
competitors know the correct length is being used and front end crew knows
where to set pole length if it has been collapsed for storage.

The problem with vinyl coated wire is that the coating hides any denigration of
the hidden wire. For the Port Huron to Mackinac Race the vinyl coated wire
life lines are grandfathered in but if a boat replaces the life lines it must
uncoated wire or the high tech cordage.

I need an Autohelm/Raymarine ST50 Wind Transducer. Might anyone have one
they would be willing to sell? I have posted a picture online at

The Port Huron to Mackinac Race does not allow vinyl coated life lines when
replaced. Existing ones are grandfathered. The idea is that the vinyl
hides potential corrosion.

There is no C&C 32-II. The C&C 32 (made 1979 to 1984) is actually 31.5 LOA.
The C&C99 is 32.5 feet and came out around 2000. The only similarity is that
they are within .5 feet of 32 feet.

need crew? Or
perhaps any tips on finding a ride? My wife and I are in our early 60's,
fit and experienced. We actively club race our C&C 32 in Metro Detroit on

Another major benefit to a block and tackle setup on a split back stay is that
anyone can look aft and get a good idea of how much backstay tension is on the
rig. We periodically forget during short handed W/L races.

do a lot of double
handed sailing so the running rigging is run back to the cockpit but is also
set up to be available at the mast too. I have a few photos on the layout
at: http://desiresailing.org/DeckSetUp.htm.
Where are you located and what kind of sailing do you plan to do?

I rebidded the aft half of my toe rail three years ago and the leaks stopped.
The link below show a diagram from C&C of my joint along with a few comments I
made after doing the job.

I just had my 2QM15 for my C&C 32 rebuilt over the winter and they did an
excellent job. We also had another club member Schooner Bay about 3 or 4 years
ago and he has been very happy too.
