The babystay serves two purposes. In rough seas, it keeps the mast from pumping. Because of the "tree trunk" mast, it allows you to bend the mast in heavy air. Some of the 35's have a padeye with a babystay and pelican hook attachment. Others (like mine) have a track so you can adjust the babys
