I have the same shifting set up. It's not worth changing. Just like your
set up, It's still up for going forward and down for going back.

It's no big secret once you start looking for them. Mine were on starboard,
same as the pic.

Richard,
Congrats on your new boat. I'm in the market for my first C&C. Growing up
my family owned a C&C 25, C&C 34, and I raced on a C&C 35 MK II.
I'm looking for a boat for Bayfield WI on Lake Superior for my young
family, I have two boys age 7 and 4. My search has narrowed to the 33

I’m probably not going to be of much help there. I have the style of Edson
pedestal that has the shift lever to port and the throttle control to
starboard. They both work in the vertical plane in a box aft of the pedestal
proper and the cabling runs in stainless steel tubing outside also. In my
Dave, thanks, send me you list, I'm ready!
One thing I've noticed already is that the gear shift lever is on the aft side
of the helm station, rather than on the port side, which is what I am used to;
I recall that recently someone changed the shift lever from the aft to the side

Pete, thanks I will certainly take you up on your kind offer!

Congratulations Richard! We've had ours for 17 years now and have loved it.
Pretty sure you will to. If you get around to the Chesapeake Bay stop by and
tie up.
Also, if you ever need old used parts I've got a bunch lying around. ;-)
Cheers,

Kevin;
I have a pair of the overhead fluorescent lights that were OEM on my 38. I
replaced them several months ago with a pair of LED fixtures made by
Alpenglow, based on the opinion of Practical Sailor that these are the very

Curtis,
I also have a Raymarine bridging device that goes both ways: NMEA 0183 to
SeaTalk and back. The newer Autohelm computers accept and transmit both
Seatalk and 0183, so I no longer need it. You are welcome to it.

Chuck,
Still in the planning stage. My boat should have been hauled Thursday but
the tide was so low I could not get the boat to the travel lift. It should

The HF bearing separator kit (or a borrowed one) might be the easy way out.

Hi Joel,
Not sure how far along you are on your bearing removal? I have heard a few
