FWIW, I’d go with Holland rather than Southshore. I was looking for stanchion
braces just last month and got no response from Southshore. Holland got back to
me right away and were able to supply what I needed.

If (when) the wind comes up and it’s time to douse, you’re going to want to
hoist your genoa so you can douse the spin behind it. Chafe and twisting aren’t
going to be your friends. I’d much rather have the asym flying from a halyard
that’s above the genoa halyard. You shouldn’t need anything as
on my todo list for winterizing ease - also makes another backup bilge pump
for a very bad day ... as long as the engine keeps running.

My C&C 26 with a single cylinder diesel ( SB 8? I think) has only a thru
hull and sea cock, then a hose to the pump. The boat came from Lake George
in upstate NY, a pristine fresh water lake that you can drink from. I think
I should have some sort of strainer between the thru hull and the pump now
