I'm going to be building some machines in the next short while. I tried
with Ubuntu and I'm not impressed. My next try will be Debian and I'm
familiar with this since I'e been running it since about 1998.
I have a couple new boots. Is there interest in an install fest?

I would be interested in an install fest. I need to rebuild a machine
and do some serious upgrades. I have a candidate organised.
I know I will be running into so issues. I need dual heads and want to
use a virtual machine. Likely I will go to Debian again because I did
not like what I saw in
I am looking to buy a gigabyte BRIX I5.
The price at Memory Express is $380.
I would want to run likely Debian Linux on it because I loaded Ubuntu on
an old PC and I didn't really like what I saw.

Call Seagate. Data REcover Labs. They are good but they are not cheap.

You are going to have to tet it somehow. The OS knows this but to get
this information relayed to your own code you need to hook into the file
system.

In DOS this use to be done with the FDISK command which IMHO is a
STUPID place to put it! I have no idea how this
Can you even delete one (1)?
This is a serious question because I have had to do this but it was more
than 10 years ago and the file system can handle more files than the
delete utility can handle.
So if you can delete _any_ then write a bash (or any shell) script and
chew through the mess.

So why participate?
This has been pointed out before.

The last time I upgraded was quite a while ago - from Debian woody to
Sarge. This upgrade was a DISASTER. So much for promises.

I have no knowledge of the bylaws issue. IMHO they should be easy to
change. All the club needs is at least a 2/3 majority vote. So the
club should organise a change to the charter and put it forth to the
membership and lets see.
Now I have been to CLUG meetings and I consider what the club doe
