Does it mean the only option is throwing this database into a

The way it's constructed - is it guaranteed to eventually succeed no

Hi Alan,
I'm only using LTO-4 with Bacula.
This device to be precise:

Considering an upgrade to LTO-6 or 7 some time next year.
Thanks

ake sense to use more than one compression (i.e.
software on clients and hardware on tape drive) concurrently?
With the current settings does it make sense to track all big text files
on clients and compress them before a backup run?
Cheers

I'm using MySQL 5.5.31 as a backend.
Or maybe some third party tools?
Prefer to ask rather than spending days re-inventing the wheel.

So I'm reluctant to take the risk with our main backup system which I'm
still learning how to use.
Any ideas?
Thanks
