however, I always have a seperate one for bacula. The bacula workload is
different from most other database applications as is mainly writes.

I strongly recommend to always backup the whole server. The saved few
100MB system data is never worth the time you have to spend resolving

you need more. 'Spool Data' might help, but technically it
doesn't sound especially bright to copy things from disk via disk to
disk instead of from disk to disk. Respectively for Tape: Tape-Disk-Tape
instead of Tape-Tape, while with tapes it might have a benefit in terms
of tape wear
3.0.1 as it avoids any catalog upgrade hassle that might kick
in.
Be aware I only started with Bacla 5.0 and never use a 3.0 myself.

able to create a valid and complete backup. The drawback is, you need
either more than 1 tape drive or sufficient disk storage to buffer it in

LTO4 as well here, and no ear next to the drive. However, 'mt status'
won't run as the drive is in use by the copy jobs, how you got that
info?

Do you use 'Spool Data = yes'?
To my understanding you can run multiple jobs to storage the same time,
but they end up interleaved. Spooling the data will write full jobs or
at least bigger chunks of a job in one run.

bles but never actually changed them to innodb. So I just did a
classic mysqldump, changed the MyISAM for InnoDB and loaded that again.
Speed improved many many times. My incremental backup finished after
just 10 minutes while it took 2h earlier.

or whatever your system uses
for running the webserver. sudo runs stuff as 'root' by default, if you
already are root your debugging capabilities are limited regarding to
correct sudo setups.
