Hey All,
I am attempting to configure a copy job to create an set of backup tapes I can
ship offsite but everytime a job starts, the base offsite job sits waiting for
the Tape resource, and the child copy job sites waiting for the File
resource... it seems like they are deadlocking each other b

You can use execute diskshadow (which is built into server 2008) before
the backup to make a shadow copy of the drive. Once the backup is

Bonjour Nicolas,
I tried it and gave up -- there some posts about the subject --
restoring a backup can be quite difficult.
I looked at deduplicating file systems (there are several choices) as
places to store bacula backups, but alas, bacula places data on the disk
in an un-aligned stream, there
Hi,
I am new to the list. Just want to understand the difference between
enterprise and community versions. Besides the commercial support which is
very important to medium and large companies, enterprise version has some
interesting plugins, e.g. bandwidth throttling, VSS, NDMP, block level

Hi,
I have been using bacula to back up my local linux machine (Mint 11) and
a Mac laptop for a couple of years now, and I would like to update my
linux OS to a new version. To get a good, stable system, I have always
done a pretty clean install (basically only saved /home partition, and

Hi there,
I have several machines with different disk configurations (some have
c:,d: and e:, others have c: and others have c: and d:) sharing the same
fileset. If Bacula 5.0.3 should not find some folders (for instance

Hey
At a few sites we use bacula to write backups to a CIFS share. Mostly
this works just fine, but on a few of those setups we regularly
experience CIFS timeouts.
We believe these timeouts are mostly due to the servers hosting the
shares being under heavy load at the time of the backup (they'
