Hi everyone,
I wonder if someone could help me find a solution. We are running Bacula for
a couple months and from time to time (at least 2 or 3 a week) we have

Ok, so I can use "update slots" on an autochanger where barcode reader
and barcode labels are available; whenever the former or the latter is
missing I had to launch a full inventory of the library with "update
slots scan".
I guess the best practice is to label all the available volumes and then

This is actually a really good reason to consider a forum/yahoo group/
google group with 'watch this thread' options as an addition to,

I have the need to recover a file that's expired it's retension but I
still have the tape. Is there a way to read the tape contents back in
or back in far enough to restore files?

I could settle for that, I like Google groups and its nice overview.
Spam usually isn't an issue on my Google groups so I guess Google
has a better solution in place for that compared to Yahoo.
I have to say though, the backupcentral.com automatic mailing list

I have to agree with John here. I like the idea of using one of the
free, public list/group solutions, but I think Google's tool works
better than Yahoo's.

Hello all,
What I profoundly dislike about forums is the "so do I" kind of responses that
pollutes it: whenever someone asks a question, you'll have ten people saying "I

These are valid points. I do, however, agree with a previous poster
that the SF archive page for this list is mostly unusable. Fixing
that would help a great deal (if for no other reason that to help keep
re-posts of old, answered questions from cropping up all the time).

That would require someone who'd act as a moderator for the forums, and
knowledgeable people to frequent it and answer questions. Unlike mailing
lists, forums stay usable only as long as someone

Hi,
I have configured a windows fileset with this option:

With this, users can modify in their computer what files will be backup
and I will not restart server. They only need to create a file called
"lista.txt" in C:\.
But I have found a prob

Adding official forums would greatly benefit the Bacula project, I think.
Mailing lists are okay, but they do not provide some of the options and
benefits of forums. Forums would also provide easier support access to
younger folks (such as myself :P).

Hello,
i'm using bacula (2.0.3) for some month now. now i got a "Quantum Superloader3"
and try to figure out how to mangage offsite storage.
Because there is no Import/Export Slot i have to eject tapes via the native
quantum web-interface or at the autoloader.
I would like to do a solution which

by native 64-bit apps.
