Its even more complex. One thing I missed is what happens when a job
needs a tape from a pool but all tapes in the pool are marked as Full,
Used, Error or Archive. I believe in this case bacula first checks if

Right, and that confuses an (ex-)Amanda user like me...

But the scheduler has to get his info from somewhere or somebo

I upgraded to 2.1.28 to see if I could get this working. I've set up our
autochanger with two drives, but I can't mount a tape in the second
drive. When asked for the drive I type in '1', but it says that it is
mounting it in drive '0'. Do I have the format wrong?

Hello Frank,
obviously I found an expert... Thanks for your reply.
The reason why I decided to have so many different pools was motivated
by the (confusing) examples in the manual, so I DID read it, even more
than twice ;-)
My problem is, that I have to write to both tapes simultaneously

Another update: I changed the record in the database to reflect the way
the barcode reads the volume, and it seems to be recognized, however, it
is listed as LTO2 and as such, the library can not find a suitable
device to read the tape. Although LTO3 can read LTO2 tapes. Has this

Hi,
I want to set up Bacula to automatically label any blank volumes. The
volumes in question are DLT tapes, using a plain tape drive (no
autochanger).
The director's configuration is slightly complicated by the fact that
there are t
More info on this. I put one of the old tapes in the new library and the
barcode reader reads it differently then the old one does. The new
library attaches L2 to the volume name. I would guess if this is not the
case then Bacula would not have a problem. So before I go through the
database and ren
Hello,
As I have mentioned several times, we are nearing the end of stabilizing the
next release (I consider the current 2.1.28 beta pretty good). There are
still a few bugs open on the current code, but they should be resolved
shortly, if they are not already fixed.
What remains is a bit mor
Hi Frank,
Sorry for only checking my mail now.
Nope, the BKF file gets created every evening and there are no issues
insofar the Windows side (Sucsessfull creation + Integrity check).
PS: 440Gb available on drive.
Bacula starts the job and then terminates with the "Insufficient System

I've got 10 tapes in a rotation. The tapes backup until they are full,
once they are full I get a notification telling me to insert the next
tape. It's a really simple setup. The problem I'm having is that once
tape 10 is full, it wants to rotate back to tape 1 (which it is suppose
to do), and

Hello,
it will run forewer if you don't create indexes. You better stop it
(also make sure the sql query is stopped as this was not a case here)
and then do something that Frank Alpeter posted once here, I'll quote
him:

I'm running dbcheck periodically every sunday with the following script:

This depends on how big your database, what type of database and if it
is properly indexed.

I started the DB check yesterday morning. It is still running. How long
does this usually take? Or am I doing something wrong?
