Types, but both refer to the same device.
This is what I do to handle the LTO-1 and LTO-2 drives in my changer.

Many thanks for pointing to the "Volume Poll Interval" storage
option. Since I am on Linux 2.6 the "Offline on Unmount" (and the
assoc "Close on Poll") didn't work (left the device blocked), but
keeping the device open and polling for a new tape did the trick.

failure / is canceled / etc? AFAICT the "RunAfterJob" script is run
only when the job terminates successfully.
Of course, one could possibly wish that the "RunAfterJob" script can

This one is pretty huge for me, and likely a mess of other people who
have the equipment they have and are not going to be upgrading anytime
soon. I have DDS3,4,DAT72,DLT70, etc., etc. and the only way I get new
drives is with a new machine.

I learned that things like this were a problem when I started using
bacula, as there is no easy way to schedule it. As it was, with Data
Protector, I had been doing it by hand anyway. Doing the 1st and 3rd
Tuesday is how I ultimately handled the situation. We don't have off
hours staff anyway,
It's not really a huge limitation, as far as Bacula is concerned. It's a
limitation for the USER, as you can't really look at the table and know
what is going to happen right before the next backup. However, I
