I've been trying to get the modules built with no luck. Perhaps you can
clarify a few things for me...
First, how did you build the alsa-driver and alsa-kernel cvs packages?
Did you copy them into the kernel? The 2.6.x docs suggest that you
shoudl copy the alsa-kernel stuff to your li

(includes audio) and C-Media CMI9739A AC97 Codec. The system
has SuSE 8.1, but with custom 2.6.2 kernel. I compiled the kernel with
soundcore and snd_via82xx as modules, updated /etc/modprobe.conf,
and the modules seem to load correctl

I just upgraded my kernel from a 2.4.20 to a 2.6.2. I was using OSS
previously, but really wanted to move to ALSA. I used the ALSA drivers
in the kernel and everything works fine - except my headphone jack. I
have a laptop and the internal speakers work just fine, but I can't get
any sound o

Some new information on this post of last week (which failed to collect any
replies).
I updated my Audigy 2 NX to the latest firmware revision from the Creative
site. I still get the same failure and no sound is issued...

I am using ALSA in 2.6.2 and compiled support for EMU10k
Instead of giving me a sound device, I get these messages in

The module-loading code has been completely rewritten for the 2.6
series
Hi,
I like bleeding edge software. I want to try the bt87x driver. I have
compiled 1.0.2c succesful. The modules are loaded succesful.
$ cat /proc/asound/cards
0 [Live ]: EMU10K1 - Sound Blaster Live!

FIrst, thank you for the quick reply. I have checked lsmod and it does
appear that everything is loade
I am trying to get software mixing working to eliminate the need for
