I've encountered a problem while trying to adjust the speaker volumes
on my Lenovo X13S laptop, which uses the SC8280XP-LENOVO-X13S sound
card. My goal is to increase the volume for the "SpkrRight PA Volume"
and "SpkrLeft PA Volume" controls without using GUI tools
r devices you can purchase, which might be a solution.
I'm hoping for a software solution, though.

I'd like to play sound from a device connected to my sound card's
line-in. I'm able to do so by enabling the loopback device in
alsamixer. But even with the line-in level and line-in booster level

controller. I have a Fedora Core 5 with the latest stable kernel release

via an optical s/pidf cable.
With some help from kirberich && crimsum I adjusted the model= line in my

AlsaPlayer 0.99.76 is out. This is a bugfix release. Things should run
much better on NPTL enabled systems (e.g. latest Debian and Redhat). The
playlist doesn't loop by default anymore. There were also some cleanups
in the core. The next few releases will focus on bringing in a new GTK2

configure stopped with a message that it couldn't find any kernel sources.
So I added --with-kernel=/usr

An update. I'm currently trying the latest CVS for AC3 passthru. Dolby
digital works sporadically with mplayer playing a DVD (LOTR). It cuts
in and out about every two seconds (seems to be changing between dolby
digital and pro logic like it is losing sync or something).
