Has anyone had any luck with getting the AC3 passthru to work with this card/chipset? I notice in the code for 0.9.0rc3 / 0.9.0rc7 ice1712.c this notice which leads me to believe this still doesn't work:
NOTES: - spdif nonaudio consumer mode does not work (at least with my Sony STR-DB830)
It definitely does not work with rc3 so I upgraded to rc7. However, it caused more problems than it solved (S/PDIF related see below) and AC3 passthru still doesn't work.
With rc7, although I liked the ability to change the clock setting, I couldn't get the S/PDIF to work reliably. I had trouble getting at least Pro Logic out of the S/PDIF reliably (worked fine with rc3) when playing a DVD / mpeg4 video etc.
And I had to jump through hoops (changing the data mode between audio and non-audio, changing the data category to general a few times, removing and reinserting the driver) to sometimes get that to work. Also, when I paused, skipped chapters, etc., I got the dreaded Data Error 5.1 on my Yahama receiver. So, I just downgraded back to rc3.
Any ideas when this might be fixed?
