An update. I'm currently trying the latest CVS for AC3 passthru. Dolby digital works sporadically with mplayer playing a DVD (LOTR). It cuts in and out about every two seconds (seems to be changing between dolby digital and pro logic like it is losing sync or something). If I remember correctly, rc3 might have performed the same. I'll have to go back and test it.
The mplayer command I use is as follows:
mplayer -dvd 1 -ao oss -ac hwac3
I also have my envy24control set up as follows:
Patchbay S/PDIF Outputs: PCM Out 9 and PCM Out 10
Hardware Settings: Professional Non-audio, Consumer Category set to General.
If anyone has any other things I can try, please let me know. I'd really like to get this working.
