Hi,
A week ago I decided to install a new kernel (2.4.24) since I was still running
on 2.4.23 on my desktop. I also added some of the pre-emptive patches for this
kernel. After a while I noticed something was wrong.
In KDE the sound suddenly sounded unusually fast. Setting a custom sample

Hi,

Hi,
I doubt this is supported. Even in Windows You need to have at least
Windows XP to get this working since otherwise it isn't supported. I'm
glad that the digital out is working (even though it's just XMMS or artsd
but not both at the same time) and it's all I need right now. I haven't

Hi,
Well, it guess you still don't get the point I was trying to make.
Here's an example that might make it a little clearer:

Hi,
I have a few queries:
1) Can you confirm that libALSA.so 1.2.8 is indeed broken with ice1724 cards
and it isn't a problem with ALSA?
Uh, I don't know how to confirm this and/or how to check this. In previous

I have described in detail all the errors I get and what exactly I did to

Hi,
I am happy to report that my card is finally working as it should.
Here is what I did:
I enabled aRTsd from the commandline to see if there were any
errors that I could work with:
This is the commandline that I used at first:
artsd -a alsa -d -D plug:spdif
This gave me the following errors:

Hi,
Even though I probably shouldn't go into this I will bite.
I admit that the alsa documentation is not very good. Although I consider
myself rather good at

trouble getting Alsa to work
properly on my system. In fact it took
Hi,
Here's an update of my progress so far:
I downloaded alsa-xmms-0.9.12, compiled and installed it.
I also grabbed the latest cvs version of alsa just to be sure

After some changes I was able to get xmms working. Though
I am not sure it had anything t
Hi,
I have had problems with my Terratec Aureon Space 7.1 ever since I bought the
thing. Not with the device but with the support for Linux. I think that
most (if not
all) is due to misconfiguration and not knowing how to set it up properly.
I hope someone can help me with my current issue. This
Hi,
When I try to play sound with a soundplayer for KDE I can only get
analog sound. When I use the following syntax for aplay I can play
sound without any problem through the digital out:
aplay -D plug:iec958 /sample.wav
I tried to apply the same the the settings in the Control Center

Hi,
A while ago I had a couple of problems with my soundcard
(Terratec Aureon Space 7.1). The digital out was not functioning
due to a small bug in the source code. After this was reported
it was immediately fixed and I was able to play sounds with
aplay.
Since the latest Slackware came out I star

i guess you configured aureon as the second card?
then try to give -Dhw:1 option.
Ok, that did help. Thanks :)
I played around with the values somewhat but unfortunately

in addition to IEC958 Playback Switch, there is a control which
configures the IEC958 status bits. these bits give some important
information such as sample rate, transfer mode, etc.
the problem is that they are represented in byte arrays and pretty
cryptic for end-users. so, i wrote a smal

to set up the IEC958 status bits correctly.

Hi,
I have been trying to get my digital out working with a Terratec Aureon
Space 7.1 but so far no luck :(
I dropped a few mails on the develpment list but nobody seems to be
responding. So maybe this is just a user question then so I figured I
try in here to see if someone can help me.
Currently
Not from over here. I did have problems earlier this week. But I haven't
thought about it until now and now it seems to work again. And the
mailing list archives are also back again (although they are a few
months behind since they had to restore from backup for whatever
reason)
Is anything wrong w
ec Aureon Space 7.1 and if I go through
the changelogs (if there are any) I can find out what the status is for
supporting this card.
Thanks,
