When I try to play sound with a soundplayer for KDE I can only get analog sound. When I use the following syntax for aplay I can play sound without any problem through the digital out:
aplay -D plug:iec958 /sample.wav
I tried to apply the same the the settings in the Control Center (Sound & Multimedia --> Sound System) by adding "-D plug:iec958" (without the ") to the "Other custom options" but no luck there. Is there a way to let artsd bypass the analog output completely and have it use the digital out instead??
Btw. My card is a Terratec Aureon Space 7.1
