I doubt this is supported. Even in Windows You need to have at least Windows XP to get this working since otherwise it isn't supported. I'm glad that the digital out is working (even though it's just XMMS or artsd but not both at the same time) and it's all I need right now. I haven't experimented with 7.1 sound since my receiver won't do 7.1 (it's just a 5.1 DTS receiver) and I don't even know if it will work through the digital out. You'll probably have to hook up the speakers directly to the card.
Good luck however in getting it working.
I've searched the lists for how to configure this card but don't seem to having getting all channels on the card working. I've tried the latest 0.9.8 drivers and also the cvs code, turned all the DACs right up as mentioned in one email. Tried the options mentioned here

And still the extra channels remain silent :(
