i guess you configured aureon as the second card?
then try to give -Dhw:1 option.

Ok, that did help. Thanks :)

I played around with the values somewhat but unfortunately
still nothing.
Here's some of the output I get:

./iecdump -Dhw:1

Mode:           consumer
Data:           audio
Rate:           44100 Hz
Copyright:              protected
Emphasis:               none
Category:               general
Original:               1st generation
Clock:          1000 ppm

./iecdump -Dhw:1 -x

AES0=0x04,AES1=0x80,AES2=0x00,AES3=0x00

/etc/asound.state

control.16 {
        comment.access 'read write'
        comment.type BOOLEAN
        iface MIXER
        name 'IEC958 Output Switch'
        value true
}

As I understand from a previous post the above
switch should be enabled (it's enabled by default).

After this I should change a few other bits to enable
the digital out.
What I cannot figure out is what bits are involved.

So, what values do I need to enable digital out??
