Hi all:
When I run muse from the command line, I get this error message. It is not
specific to muse because I cannot make any connections with jack either. It
all worked when I first installed alsa, but mysteriously quit. Got any
ideas?

Well out of a sheer lack of anything else to try I've rebuilt my kernel
and rebuilt all of the alsa 1.0.4 packages (drivers, lib, utils, oss,
firmware). Still no sound no matter what I try.
Here's the output from lsmod

Hello
I need help in getting ALSA to work with Mandrake 10.
All the ALSA drivers are loaded and configured correctly but when I attempt
to start amixer I get a error that says there is no soundcards. I have
searched google and came up with a few things but not many seem to work.
Thanks,
Eric

Hello
Recently I made alsa work with dmix on my nf2 mobo, so I change my Xmms prefs to use
Alsa instead of Arts (which was the goal). But today, I realise that, when I listen to
an ogg file, I hear a little tactactac in the rear. This little noise is only present

Greetings;
I've got 1.0.4 working, sort of, with 2.6.5. Unforch, everytime I
reboot, all the mixers are muted again, and the maximum gain seems to
be fading about 10 db per reboot and cannot be turned back up by any
kmix slider. alsamixer doesn't help either. Its like there is yet

Hi
I could use some help setting up my Midiman Midisport 2x2, as it won't
work for me here. I think I've done everything I'm supposed to: Enabled
USB, usbfs, hotplugging and ALSA USB sound/midi) in the kernel, installed
hotplugging scripts, fxload and Clemens Ladisch's firmware loader. When I
Hi,
I have some problems with 6 channel sis 7012 device - I'm using it as 3
stereo channels. I trigger 3 different instances of aplay at once and I get
underrun messages from aplay.
What does this mean ?
How to solve this (bigger buffer? ) ?
It sounds like it is interleaved in short chunks (all

Yes.
I figured out how to change the output device in XMMS, but the USB
speakers still aren't making any sound, and "aplay -Dplughw:1

Hi all,
I'm new using sound with Linux, and my problem is
that i have found the packages of Alsa driver, utils, lib e kernel-modules for
my distribution ( Fedora core 1), but i'm not able to complete the
installation..
The HowTo don't consider rpm packages and i
don't find the ./snddevices t
Problem is, when using envy24control, we see sound as it plays through an
audio player on the output bars, but don't hear anything. Like I said, im no
audio guy, but if the envy24control application shows activity when audio is
played, this means the audio IS indeed making it to the cards output po
Hello there,
Ever since I upgraded to kernel 2.6.5 alsa fails to work on my laptop,
Alsa worked pretty much flawlessly with 2.4.x.
When I upgraded to 2.6 (.3) I noticed that I can only change the master
volume, changing the PCM wouldn't do anything which was pretty annoying but
I managed..

The latter should be snd-ens1371, too.

No, these devices are completely independent.
