I am using the exact same sound card, but am running kernel 2.6.3. I have successfully used this exact card on more than one version of the 2.4.x kernel, but I am running into the exact same symptom. Something else I noticed is the following: # cat /proc/asound/cards --- no soundcards --- This is despite the fact that the snd_au8830 module inserted with no errors. It has been a while since the last time I configured alsa from scratch, so it is definately possible that I am doing something stupid, but I don't remember having a problem like this before. I would appreciate any suggestions. -Jason ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials Free Linux tutorial presented by Daniel Robbins, President and CEO of GenToo technologies.
