out how to get it to work, though.
The above URL makes it sound like i can just open the
As far as I know there are two models of the SoundBlaster PCI 128.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I seem to remember one is based one the emu101 chipset and the other is based on the ensoniq 1370.
The kernel oss free module that work with my card is the es-1370, and with alsa: snd-ens1370, but of
Hey,
I remember that the ice1712 has this funny
preamp capability, is that the 'IPGA' slider
set that I now see on evny24control 'Analog Volume'
tab, and if so, I thought that that was aleady
what the 'ADC0-3' was, or maybe I'm mistaken.
Is there a source of clarifying docs on these
controls?

Why would you think that? It's clearly listed in the matrix as using
ens1371. And, that IS the one which works...but not with the rc version

Hi,
Should my apps using oss emulation be able to play
files faster than 48000Hz, or would there be some
reason that I can't reach 96000Hz with those apps
on my Delta44?
Aplay handles them beautifully, and btw, thankyou

My Delta44 would be a good card, but in Windows,
or Linux, on three different motherboards, and
as many video cards, etc... I have always had
dropouts in the sound. I can make it happen
right now at will by using Alt-tab to switch to
Mozilla.
I'm actually looking for a new card because of this.

So I think that you can try to upgrade to the current ALSA release to solve
the problem.
Yep, that makes all the difference, I see the
proper controls in envy24control now.
Thanks!

Hello,
I have a problem with 0.9.1 and the hammerfall card (true for 0.9_rcx, too): I am only
able to play back mono files. I have seen this issue has occurred before, but without
any solution, so maybe there is some more experience outside there by now.
"aplay -D foo.wav" just works, if test.
Hello
I have Terratec DMX 5 fire LT sound card and I haven't had it work with
newest alsa versios. aplay says "invalid argument" and xmms with
alsa-xmms seems to play song but I can't hear sound (problems with

Hi Toby,
I do not know what release of ALSA packages you have installed.
I have a Terratec EWX24/96 that uses the same ice1712 driver.
On my setup with ALSA 0.9.1 I can unlock the sampling rate and changing it
with alsamixer and with envy24control.
All is fine up to 96000 Hz.
So I think that you ca
