As far as I know the correct kernel module for the SoundBlaster PCI 128 is snd-ens1370 not snd-ens1371.

That version works great. I've not tried newer versions, but the latest and greatest might, or might work. But, 0.9.0rc6 does work. Ummm, is it possible that this is a compiler version problem? I'm using gcc-3.2 as shipped with mandrake??? Interesting that the OP has the same problems with 0.9.1 as I had with 0.9.0rc7 as well as the package provided with the Mandrake 9.0 distro.
