I have a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz (with the CS4630 chip), which i've read has hardware mixer support, both on the soundcard matrix and on (http://alsa.opensrc.org/index.php?page=cs46xx). I can't seem to figure out how to get it to work, though.
The above URL makes it sound like i can just open the device multiple times, but when i altered alsa-xmms to open the device in non-blocking mode, the second connection attemped failed (busy). Before, one instance of xmms would just block the other, also not playing (which it sounds like is the proper behaviour in these circumstances). So, am i misunderstanding what's supposed to be going on? How do i make use of this hardware mixer? Or at least, how do i know that it's working? On another note, can/how do i control the "versa jack" under Linux?
