The idea would be to scan in my handwritten notes, but that would also

Also, has anyone tried any available OCR software for Ubuntu? It'd be great

There's also a projector in every

It might be worthwhile to do it during the global jam then, instead of on a

The problem may be because the 5Ghz band is reserved for wireless N
devices - is your machine running a wireless-N compatible card, with
correct wireless-N compatible drivers?
If you can only connect on the 2.4Ghz band, this suggests that you are
running a wireless-a/b/g card.

anyway, her switching would just mean I can actually say 'just type this and
hit enter' rather than try remember how to do everything on Windows.

When I first switched to Ubuntu around 18 months ago, I thought it was so
much easier to use that Windows. From using Windows from 6 years old (back
on Win95) until I was 16, then switching to Ubuntu, I was incredibly
impressed with how easy it was to use everything, considering all I had to

Was just on my computer running Ibex, when gnome vanished, and the
keyboard lights started blinking. After a reboot, Linux tried to load
and said Kernel Panic, and now when it boots the machine resets after

from university, since I was the only one still using a wired connection in
the house, when I left they got a BT homehub so the house is now fully
wireless. This is a problem for me - I used to have a phone line in
rsion for now,
to save me reinstalling Ubuntu when I get my new RAM.
Cheers for the help =)

Stability is more important for me. The machine currently has only 512mb of
RAM (stolen from my desktop) but I'm headed to the shop tomorrow to pick up

I went down to MicroDirect earlier today, and bought myself a shiny new
Intel Quad Core Q6600, clocking at 2.4Ghz per core. I was so happy to be
finally replacing my 2.6Ghz Celeron (single core), which struggles to even
do 2+2 it seems. I got back into my flat, and replaced the CPU, only to find
