I missed the first lot of emails about this, so I may be WAY off the point here.
Looking at that last email, are you having network issues with the r8168 driver? If so, I had that with Hardy, on a Realtek network card. I can't remember entirely what I did, but I know I posted about it on the Ubuntu forums. If that's your problem (or one of) I can try dig out what I did to fix it for you.
