No I was using a DISK devclass, but I'm almost positive it wouldn't have

Chip,
We purchased the S2100 last year. We have our TSM servers running on AIX.
The S2100 works like a charm. No problems whatsoever. We were hitting the
wall with the tape library. Now the VTL holds most of the primary pool data
while freeing up the library for archive processing.
We receive
We are looking hard at purchasing Sepaton. Are there any users out there
can briefly describe their like/dislikes of the S2100 in a TSM
environment? Also, it would be helpful to know if you already had
relationships with HP and IBM, but did not purchase their OEM'd products

The slickest way to handle this problem is to use NetApp SnapShots for your
backups. For offsite, use a remote filer and SnapMirror.
We manage 39 TB of data on NetApp here. We use a local cluster and a remote
cluster. The retention is hourly SnapShots for 24 hours and daily SnapShots

Hi Geoff,
In sum, my recommendation is that you try it and see! :-)
Note that you can review the effects of include and exclude statements in
at least a couple of ways:
1) The backup-archive command line client PREVIEW function
2) The backup-archive GUI which will visually indicate which file

The tree will expand and you'll see "Data Protection for for SQL".

Hello all,
we are planning to install TSM-OR 5.3, ISC 6.01 and AC 5.3 on a Windows
cluster to add some kind of high availability.
This is the first time where this kind of software is being installed
and we don't know so far if it's possible to use a different 'location'
for the data of these a
We are in the process of installing the GE Centricity RIS/PACs system
for our radiology department. At this point GE is telling our project

side and GE has been going around and around on this but it looks like
GE will have the fi
Try to restore the files with backint or backfm
"backfm =p initTPP.utl" will give you a kind of filemanager where you can
select individual files from the different backups.

Hi,
I am facing problem in restoring single log file using brrrestore. The
activity log shows that the require file archTPP.log has been successfully
backed by brarchive using tdp for SAP/R3 V5.2. We are unable to retrieve this
file by brrestore command. It gives

Hi,
I have some question regarding backup of large fileservers.
We have 20+ filers with a total of 9 and 15TB of home and common
folders. The problem is when the Filer admins decide to move or split
volumes which give us a new full backup... And after some time it will
be harder to track data dow
