I've got the following Problem:
We have a StorageTek - Tape Robot and we have nearly 200 Tapes that ADSM uses,
that are damaged.
So i have to move the Data to other volumes. I would try this with the Command
Move Data, one for each tape.
My question is: is there a better way to move the

As somebody has suggested, set your mountretension to 0.

The syntax of the command on Unix and NT is dsmserv format n lognames m
dbnames. This creates the volumes, but more importantly creates the
dsmserv.dsk file that TSM uses to find the db and log vols.
I guess I'm in the mood to be expansive. Just trying to add the finer
points.

You are right. We had an OS390 server crash a few months ago and that was
the step that was keeping us from going any further. When we finally read
about it in the manual all went fine after that.

volumes, listing the quantity of logs and their names and the quantity of
dbvols and their names???

dsmserv install 1 logname 1 dbfilename
double check the manual... you have to do this to init the vo
Yep, they've screwed up... at least in my 3.7.2.0 aix server code running
with a 3494.

We just upgraded to TSM 3.7.3 and it appears Netware can no longer connect.
The Netware client is running TSM 3.7.1. The only change that was made was
on the server, Netware could connect to ADSM 3.1.2.40 with no issues, but

the parameter "memoryefficient yes" from your dsm.opt.
You must run a full uncremental backup with "memoryefficientbackup no" in your
dsm.opt.

the upgrade (TSM Sched, Acceptor, remote client agent, adsm

That means you del the old inventory, after you do this, you start adsm processe
audit libr to synchronize the
inentory with the adsm db, after that the categories for the tapes at 3494 is
the same as in ADSM db for these
