What are you trying to achieve? Have the XML file echo'd contain the

Yes, I was trying to create a file containing:

replacing tokens in strings

2009-02-04 Thread Jacopo Cappellato

Hi all,

I am trying to replace all occurrences of a given token in a file
while copying it.

I am using the task:

Everyting works fine if the token in the file are in the form of

It doesn't work if the token is not separated by other strings, for
example:

"@d...@_suffix" is not replaced, while "today is @DATE@" it is.
Is there a workaround?
Thanks,

Simple solutions to sshexec nohup Ant?

2009-02-04 Thread Jan Lund
Hi all,

I've Googled
some for a solution to run sshexec remote ssh commands via Ant inside Eclipse.
But I get some sort of error although it works when the command is ran locally.
The
solutions I've found on the net seems to involve some extra IO redirection and
environment variables.

I would
like to know if there are simpler solutions to this issue.

Thanks,

Using ant to check out only a single file from CVS

2009-02-04 Thread dave.alvarado
Hi,

I'm using Ant 1.6 on Solaris 9. Right now I have a shell script in which I can
check out a package from CVS:

ant -Duser=$username -Dbaseline=$baseline -Dpackage=$CVS_PACKAGE_NAME
cvsCheckout

but I was wondering how I can check out only a single file from CVS and then
place it on a certain directory in my server. Any thoughts are most
appreciated, - Dave

Making my JAR file include everything

2009-02-04 Thread dave.alvarado
Hi,

I'm using Ant 1.6 on Solaris 9. When I created a JAR file, I'm trying to
include everything in my base directory ("basedir") as well as an additional
properties file ...

But this command creates a JAR file without the contents of the basedir. If I
remove the 'includes="${nps-config-client-file-location-properties}"' clause,
then the contents of the basedir are included. How can I have both the
properties file and the contents of the base dir?

Thanks, - Dave

You could check if a project exists in SVN via command
svn info
svn status

I am not sure how that would be done via Ant, though.

Re: Problems downloading the Spring Framework: Ivy 2.0.0

2009-02-04 Thread Tyler Kocheran
The error actually turned out to be in this line:

If I change that line to something else that's a real package, like
"org.springframework.orm", it works. How do I download the entire Spring
Framework, though? If I can't figure that out, whatever, I have Ivy
working... finally :)

How do I specify an output folder for Ivy to copy the jars to, ie make it
dump 'em to my /lib folder? And do I need to set up a filesystem resolver to
take advantage of caching or is that necessary?

Good. I've used the org.springframework.core module to retrieve the
main framework before.

How do I specify an output folder for Ivy to copy the jars to, ie make it
dump 'em to my /lib folder? And do I need to set up a filesystem resolver to

Generally, you do that with the ivy:retrieve task like so:

It will, by default, install to ${basedir}/lib, but you can override
this by changing the ivy.lib.dir property, or setting:

  pattern="${lib.dir}/[artifact]-[revision].[ext]"
on the above retrieve task.

OK. I'm starting to get the jist of Ivy now. Next on my dependency most
wanted list is log4j. I can't seem to get that library. Is there a way for
me to reenable the mvnrepository.com resolver?

Are there any tutorials out there for finding good resolvers on the web? It
seems the main problem with Ivy is not having all of the correct resolvers.

Problem with module depending on self

2009-02-04 Thread Tom Widmer

If a module depends on itself (module name matches), an exception is
thrown in Ivy, and resolve fails. (the message is 'a module is not
authorized to depend on itself'). This is problematic, since there are
reasons why a module might depend on itself. e.g.

* depends on older version (e.g. to generate some kind of delta, or get
information out of it)
* depends on something different which happens to have the same module
name, but which differs in extra attributes (e.g. a custom 'component'
attribute differs between the ivy.xml and the thing it is depending on)
* other reasons?

My proposed fix is below. Is it correct?

Thanks,

Tom

Well, I use these two all of the time:

http://repository.jboss.com/maven2";
m2compatible="true" usepoms="false"/>

The ibiblio resolver is the maven2 repo.

Also, the Ivy Roundup package resolver provides lots of modules for
projects which do not have a repository:
