I make use of setting webspots and sweet spots on the pages I go to a

of my webspots have been reversed in mountain lion. what I mean is to
scroll down from the top to the bottom of the page in previous
versions I would hit VO Command right bracket to go to the next web
spot to the right, and VO command left bracket to go to the next web
spot to the left. Simple. In Mountain it is completely reverse which
is one of the most annoying thing as when I click VO command righ
bracket it takes me to the next web spot to the left and VO command
left bracket to the next web spot to the right. This makes no sense
what so ever, and I am wondering if it is a setting that I have set
incorrectly for navigating a page. I tried turning scrolling from
normal to not clicking normal and this did nothing. This setting was
under the Track pad. I don't even have a mouse connected, so maybe the
setting is in that menu, as I can't even access the mouse menu since
my system doesn't detect a mouse. Has anyone else experienced this? I
am so used to where all of my web spots are set this is so
frustrating. I even tried removing my web spots on a page and
resetting them, but this didn't change the directions. It would make
sense you click right and you go right you click left and you go left,
but not in Mountain Lion. Would appreciate any help. Thanks

Re: Mail issues.

2012-02-02 Thread arthur gindin
everyone, especially a business should buy a PERMANENT domain name. the
servicer of that name will provide email service. if you have a problem
with the servicer, you simply find another email servicer and have the
mail forwarded to them. while you are going through the pain of opening
the new email account, your messages are still available by going to
the site of the domain name servicer and accessing them directly. the
cost of holding the domain name is about $10 a year and you can also
register similar names to prevent others from trying to steal your
customers.

If you go the SuperDuper route, and you want the ability to use your external
drive as a bootable drive - something I do - the drive will have to have
Firewire
connectivity. You can't boot from a USB drive as far as I know. I use the LaCie
drives, they're good product and you can get them in firewire/USB. Also, you
can get a Firewire800/thunderbolt adaptor to make the connection to your mac.

I really love working with the finereader pro for mac. There is one
thing that annoys me.

I have been using the windows version of finereader for many years,
a function that I really like is the send to function, but this
function is not included in the mac version. I wonder if you could
make a script that will send the document to e.g. textedit but
without having to export and save. If anyone knows something I

Hi Jim.
If configured so, you may have all the external driver eventually
connected to Mavericks, on the desktop, as you usually have just
the main one.

That’s happens when drivers are connected via some port, like USB,
or when they are available in the same Local network.

Unfortunately this seem not to be true for those drivers who are

i have talked with NFB and they indicate i should see the translation

thank you.

yes, Steve at NFB is only familiar with Duxbury.

i have no driver for the Blazer. it does appear on the printer list as
default printer. i select a text file and "save as" Document. i then
went to "processing" and chose "Louis.cfg".for "send Braille" i used
/dev/null (the others were /test.out, modem,PDA) the pinwheel just spins.

thanks again

 Hi John,

Re shutting down, I've never had to use the menu item, so had forgotten
about it being there. No, I do not get a shut down message when holding
down the power button, and the CMD-Ctrl-Option-Fn-Power does not seem to
 accomplish anything here.

Re FileVault, when you type your username, can you tell what you are
typing? In the password field, I could hear the little clicks that
indicate that characters are being entered. But I heard nothing in the
username field. And it was strange. I would type in my username, then tab
to go to password, but would be prompted again for username. I would type
my username a second time, and then I could go to the password field. I'd
like to use FileVault, but am now leery of ending up locked out of my Mac.
 Cheers,
 Donna

As for turning off the MBP, provided you have a touch bar, you can
hold the power button for a second and you should get the authentication

press the FN key with the control-option-command and power button, that
should turn it off too. I'll have to check that on my MBP.
