Intel Macs can boot from USB, FireWire or Thunderbolt. Power PC Macs can only boot from FireWire under OS X. -- Dave Nanian Shirt Pocket -----Original Message----- From: "arthur gindin" <ryoanji....@gmail.com> Reply-To: ryoanji....@gmail.com Date: Mon, 14 Apr 2014 21:32:34 -0400 To: "Shirt Pocket Support" <supp...@shirt-pocket.com> Subject: Fwd: Re: Time Machine or what
is this true? ag -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: Time Machine or what Date: Mon, 14 Apr 2014 08:53:33 -0400 From: Phil Halton <philh...@gmail.com> Reply-To: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com To: Macvisionaries <macvisionaries@googlegroups.com> If you go the SuperDuper route, and you want the ability to use your external drive as a bootable drive - something I do - the drive will have to have Firewire connectivity. You can't boot from a USB drive as far as I know. I use the LaCie drives, they're good product and you can get them in firewire/USB. Also, you can get a Firewire800/thunderbolt adaptor to make the connection to your mac. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
