Re: taming the album grid in Itunes
Hi Mary, I just don’t use that view. I really hate it with Voiceover. lol. I select the songs button so everything is shown in list form. For an artist, I then press command option F to go to the search field, type in the artist name and press enter. I then jump back to the songs table, and there is all the songs by that artist. hth Ricardo Walker rica...@appletothecore.info Twitter:@apple2thecore www.appletothecore.info On Aug 31, 2013, at 6:11 PM, Mary Otten wrote: > Hi all, > > Is there a way to get an alternative view to the table that has the album > grid in it?> For instance, in my music library, I select the artists racio > button. Frustrated trying to import photos from a picture CD
Hello, all. I have already spent considerable time on Apple Support trying to figure out how to import photos from a CD onto my Mac. I was assured when we purchased the picture CD from vacation activities that it would work on any system. Although I have my iPhoto preferences set to open iPhoto when I inset a picture CD. nothing is happening. OPening iPhoto manually does nothing either. I cannot find a way to get onto the CD; there appears to be no way to import. The support videos I am finding either assume I already have pictures imported, or are assuming I have either a memory stick or digital camera. Help would be sincerely appreciated. Re: Frustrated trying to import photos from a picture CD
Hi, • Open iPhoto. • Press cmd-shift-i or go under the File menu and choose Import to Library. • Press cmd-shift-c to bring up the list of connected media. • Navigate through the items to find the CD. • Expand or open it. • Locate the folder with all the photos and select it. • Press the Import button. All the photos within that folder will be imported into your iPhoto Library. You can easily find the entire import in the Last Import section. You can then select any or all of them and put them into other albums if you wish. HTH. Later... Lots of things as I know the Seeing App is fully VI friendly as it will tell you what is in front and what is coming up next which Blind Square lacks. I don't want to open ten apps to get what I need as opening one app is enough. On the bus even though I have not set a route it doesn't tell me where I am and I have almost missed my stop even though I've told it what to do. The Seeing App is not free. I only know that the 3 year subscription is 130 dollars but you can pay a year's subscription but not sure what that is. I think it worth the money as I use to use a similar app on a mobile called GEO and this is what it is like. Re: Downgrading my mac mini from ml to l
Hi, Did you purchase the Mini with ML on it? If so, then you're kind of hooped. Apple has coding in firmware and such that makes it extremely difficult to go backwards from the originally installed from factory OS. If it came with Lion or earlier, then you can do a clean install of the older OS. You'll just need to backup all your current info then bring that info back manually. Probably not the best news but it's the best I can offer. Later... iTunes error 4002 (I think it has to do with iTunes match)
Hi all, For about the last week or so when I open iTunes, I get the error message "The iTunes store cannot complete your request (An unknown error occurred error error 4002). I can bring this dialog up by clicking on iTunes match, so I think it's somehow related to that. Anyone have any idea what this might be, and more importantly how I can get rid of it? Making keynote slides from screen shots
Is it possible to create accessible screenshots from within Safari to paste into Keynote? I am looking to make a presentation that will include certain webpages. I need to know what slide I am on. I would like to capture screenshots to paste into Keynote, , and still have the text readable with voiceover so I know what we're looking at during the presentation. I can add some text to the page to queue me as to what's like I am on. This goes around the problem that may arise if pasting screenshots gives you images, not text. Re: Making keynote slides from screen shots
Hi, In theory, it's possible with an OCR of the screenshot. typically, the screenshot is an image, thus not readable by VO or any screenreader for that matter. The problem will arise when the page you performed the OCR on starts losing organizational functionality. If this is for other VO users, that may not specifically matter, as long as they can know what was on the screen. If the presentation is for sighted users, you may require some sighted assistance to make sure that the integrity of the screenshot is maintained after the OCR process. Alternatively, as you mentioned, if the original screenshot is there with some notes from yourself, that would work for a sighted audience. HTH. Later... Re: 2 or 3 OS on one system
Yes, Ricardo is correct here. The issue is that the list of possible Startup Disks is not accessible when using this method. You could certainly determine the right number of arrow presses to make it work for you though. Essentially, this is just an alternative method of choosing a different Startup Disk instead of using system Prefs. Later... Re: Making keynote slides from screen shots
Thank you. I would add that the best way to capture a screenshot for pasting later is the keystroke Command-Shift-Control-3. That's the 3 in the num row. Use the command above without the control key and a file is created on your desktop containing the image. If using the preferred method, you can go into a new location on the computer and paste with Command-V Hope this helps. Re: taming the album grid in Itunes
Thanks Barry and Ricardo for your input on my problem with the artist view in iTunes. I think I like the column browser solution better. But it's good to have choice. Quick nap is behaving differently Undermountain lion then it did in snow leopard, but I'm having a difficult time putting my finger on the difference. All I know is, I'm using the number pad a lot more. Thank God for extended keyboards.
