Hi Alison. Yes you can sync your contacts, calendars and address book over the air with Mobile me. I think its worth the investment, but you may think differently. Kawal. Eric you are in good company as I went totally blind a few months ago too. Not sure if this will help your problem, but have you tried turning keyboard tracking off? You can do this by pressing VO+Shift+F3, simply press this when in the chat window (not the edit box) and then press VO+End if you want to be at the bottom of the chat window. tried that. I got no response from the live chat. it seems that something is amiss between safari and voiceover. I am learning grade 1 now (on my own). the state seems to think that learning braille isn't an "immediate need". Frankly, I think it is (along with independent living skills and O&M training). They have on the priority 1 group but have deferred my status indefinitely (my case comes up for review again in 6 months). I find that to be unacceptable as I need training for jobs I am being offered NOW. no training = no job. Sometimes I don't understand why they are so penny wise and pound foolish. Hi Bryan, I suggest that if you have questions about Snow Leopard Server that you join the mac-access list. Last year the list owners completed transitioning their entire operations to Mac servers, so they're running Snow Leopard servers for their network services as well as using the Mac with VoiceOver for their personal computing. I don't know of any other sources with this same level of expertise in Mac server operations using VoiceOver. (Also, Gordon Smith produced the first really comprehensive podcast on Fusion and virtualization on the Mac, along with how to do the installations over 3 years ago for ACB Radio's Main Menu technology show.) Hi, It's not something you should have to know or be required to fiddle with just to listen to a book, but unlike most things in ITunes, this should actually be easy. Simply highlight all of your audiobook files in ITunes. Press Command I. Agree that yes you do want to edit multiple items. Make sure you are in the info tab. Check the genre checkbox, and type audiobooks in the edit box. Hit the OK button and in a few seconds you will hear the success bells. Hi Paul, it really just is a control-click. It means, hold down the control key and hit the mouse button. Basically, press down on the trackpad. Of course, the mouse has to be focussed on the item you want to click first, and in some instances, you actually can't use the VOiceOVer keystroke for this in which case you will have to use this method. Good morning VaShaun, To install the latest version of the Reader, using a Mac, please do the following. 1. Please navigate with either Safari or Firefox to: http://www.knfbreader.com 2. Navigate to the "My Reader" link. 3. Navigate to the "new user" link 4. Fill out your information to create a user account and activate the "register" button once all of the required fields have been filled out. 5. Navigate to the "Software activation" link and enter your trial serial number in to the necessary field and press the "next" button to proceed. 6. Download the latest version of the knfbReader software, the English language pack, and the English documentation. All of the files should save to your Downloads folder in your home directory. 7. Power on your Nokia phone and press the menu key, navigate to applications, highlight the "Reader" application and press the clear/delete key located above the number 3. When a message appears asking you to confirm the removal of the application, please do so by pressing the left selection key. 8. Once the application has been removed from the device, please connect the device to your Mac using the provided USB cable. When the device has been connected, a message should appear on the phone screen asking you how you want to connect. Please navigate to the "Mass storage" item and press Ok. 9. At this point, you should see a new disc drive appear on your finder. Please navigate to your downloads folder and highlight all three of the files needed for installing the reader and press command C to copy the items to your clipboard. 10. Navigate to the mass storage device in your finder and open the disc. Press command V to paste the installation files on the phone. Once the files have finished transferring to the device, close the window and highlight the disc in the finder window and press command E to eject the device. Disconnect the phone from the computer. and navigate to applications/office/file manager. for instructions on how to use the File Manager on your phone. Use the File Manager on your phone to open the file named knfbReader_v_6_4_0.sis or kReader_v_6_3_4.sis depending on the product you are installing. 11. After a short time, your phone will ask you if you want to install the Reader. Press the Left-Select key to say "yes" to this prompt, as well as the other prompts that will come up. If you only plan to install one language pack, you can install to the phone memory when prompted where to install (this is the default), but if you plan to install more than one language pack, you should change the selection to either "Mass Storage" or "Memory Card". Continue to press the Left-Select key to confirm the remaining prompt messages. Once the installation is complete, repeat the installation steps above with the language pack file that will be the user language, and again for the on-phone documentation pack. Make sure to install the language and documentation packs to the same location as the executable, either in the phone memory, mass storage or memory card, depending on your phone model. Repeat these steps again for each additional language pack you install, as well as the documentation pack file. 12. After installing the Mobile Reader and language pack or packs, you must activate the software. Turn the phone off, and then turn it back on so that the main screen appears with the time and date. If the bottom left of the phone screen says "Reader", Talks or Mobile Speak will say "Key 1 Reader", your phone has been pre-configured to launch the Reader with Left Selection key. If not, you can configure a shortcut yourself by using the phone's "Personalization" options; refer to the user manual for your phone model on our phone information page. The instructions below assume that the shortcut is set to the Left Selection key. Open the Reader application by pressing the Left-Select key while on the main screen and you will be presented with a message asking you to activate the software. If you do not have this shortcut, press the Menu key and navigate to the Applications folder. On the 6220 Classic, select the My Own folder within Applications. Navigate to the Reader icon and press the Select key to open it. 13. The Reader application will ask you to press the Left-Select key, in order to continue activation. Then, you can press the down button to hear the software code, and you can have it repeated as many times as you like by pressing the right directional button. Go back to the web browser on your computer with the page where you can download the Mobile Reader files (refer to steps 2,3 and 4). Select the "Next" button at the bottom of this page and then you will be prompted to enter a software code. Hi Peggy! Yes, when you have opened Itunes go to the preferences by the command [ command+, ] You should be on general then vo right arrow until you get to the when you put in a cd button! This might be set on import cd and eject or import cd button! If so select that button with vo+space bar and you will get a menu, just go to the one that says play cd vo+space bar again, then scroll right to the end to the ok button and press vo+space bar again and thats it! XCode compile.
Greetings, I wanted to compile a "helloWorld" program in either objective C or C++ and apparently am not looking in the right place for for instructions on getting started. The developer site indicates that XCode is included with Snow Leopard, however I don't see it recursing into the application or library folders. I did see folders for sample scripts and a few programming languages in the library folder, but am giving up and thought I'd ask here for help getting going with XCode. TIA for any pointers. Geoff, My understanding is that whilst you are able to code in xcode, running the program in the iPhone simulator will not be accessible. The suggested workaround is to sign up to the developer program, although $100 does seem a little bit steep to here vo say hello world. If you have jailbroken your phone however, I'm fairly sure that you would be able to put it onto the iPhone without having to pay apple. The ipa's (applications) that are on your phone are all signed y apple. Once you sign up to the program, I'm assuming apple will sign your ipa's there by allowing them onto your phone. However, if you have jailbroken, you can install an app called AppSync which will let your phone run unsigned ipa's. Sorry it's not the exact answer; I just thought I'd let you know about what you might encounter before you start. Liam, If you want to skip back/forward through a track, hold down command and option and use the left/right arrow keys. To skip from one track to another, use the left/right arrow keys. Huh, Nic you are correct. I did make an error. If quicknav is on, you can still change tracks and move about in the track.
