[libreoffice-l10n] LibreOffice Asturian l10n

2010-10-04 Thread Xuacu
Hi!

Asturian OOo NLC Team will be here too.

Since we're transitioning team lead in OOo, I can take care also of
LibreOffice Asturian (ast) l10n. Other fellow translators will be here
too.

Best regards.

[libreoffice-l10n] Asturian language lo-build-ast.po

2010-10-09 Thread Xuacu
Hi!

Here is a link for lo-build-ast.po
http://www.4shared.com/file/HtRrvjMp/lo-build-ast.html

Please, can someone commit it? In case something goes wrong with the
link (I don't trust that .html extension), please, drop me a line and
I'll try some other method to upload it.

Kind regards.

First things first...

Here is a link to the Asturian file in Dropbox:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13043022/lo-build-ast.po.tar.gz

And now, on the off-topic side...

Yes I noticed that italian header, but just in case... :) Also, I was
curious about that not-so-common and really accurate use of «las
Asturias» (or «les Asturies» in asturian) in it's plural form :)

Hi!

Did such terminology files came from Pootle itself? It's working fine
for Asturian language, but I believe that someone in our team has been
working with Pootle recently. Do you know if anyone in the French or

Hi Andras, all.

I'm almost sure that I've followed all the steps to get Asturian

available for rc1.

Do I need to do something else to have LO available in Asturian?

OMG! I just did the opposite for Asturian language a few days ago! For
me, it makes more sense the http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/LOCALE
schema, but I understood that, because wiki structure, it could be
easier to have interwiki links using the
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/PAGE/LOCALE schema... Just in case, I
left a redirection in the previous place ;)

Now, I'm totally confused. Which schema should be used? We need to have
consensus on this before further translation of wiki contents.

More opinions?

Hi, Andras

Even if I'm not in the Spanish team, I think that such translation, even
if acceptable, it's not fully accurate.

burbuja uses a plural form (actualizaciones), while the original string
uses singular. My best guess would be "La búsqueda de una actualización
ha fallado" or, less literal, "No se encontró ninguna actualización"

And, please, excuse me if I stepped my neighbours' garden ;)

[libreoffice-l10n] Asturian language - mistake in pootle

2011-03-05 Thread Xuacu
Hi Rimas, all

Somehow I got to mess files in Asturian/Extensions for LibO 3.3. Some
chains "jumped" from previous msgstring to next msgid, mostly the ones
which contains /n in the translation.

I've tried to upload files from my local backup, but no luck so far
(BTW, is possible that it has something to do with past Pootle
behaviour?)
So can you, please, overwrite these files with the zipped backup in
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TVKGP1V6 to recover it before translations
deadline?

Thank you in advance for your time.

Hi, Andras

Thank you for your quick response!

Fortunately, nlpsolver isn't affected as it only happened to files which
have blank messages in english, so further action isn't needed for it
(already at 100%).

To deal with the affected ones (those which aren't at 100%), I feel that
the easier way is just delete it and I'll translate it again. If you're
busy with translations deadline, please, take your time to do it;
there's no hurry for this one :)

Hi,

You're right, it's "translations" and not "translate". Anyway, I always
connect from pootle.documentfoundation.org, and the trouble was in the
jump, where Firefox returned a "Server not found" error. So it's very
likely that the problem was in my provider's DNS server. It all works
fine today. Thank you.

For Asturian language (and Spanish, Galician and Catalan, at least)
'startpunct' throws false positives because of the required characters
"¿" and "¡" (inverse quotation and exclamation marks). It would be great
to have it fixed in Pootle.

French guillemets adaptation would be also useful for us.

Thank you, Andras, but I've to bother you again...

I've just noticed that total word count is different for Asturian
(378971) than for any other language (438496) Is that right? In case
something's wrong, I guess it's better to fix it now (feel free to
overwrite the existing translations in case you need to).

Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Translation of the names of the keys on Windows

2013-01-11 Thread Xuacu
Hi!

Based on spanish keyboard, I guess this is Asturian keyboard translation:

static const struct KeysNameReplacement aImplReplacements_Asturian[] =
{
{ KEY_BACK, "Retrocesu" },
{ KEY_ENTER, "Intro" },
{ KEY_SPACEBAR, "Espaciu" },
{ KEY_HOME, "Aniciu" },
{ KEY_UP, "Arriba" },
{ KEY_PAGEUP, "Re Páx" },
{ KEY_LEFT, "Izquierda" },
{ KEY_RIGHT, "Drecha" },
{ KEY_END, "Fin" },
{ KEY_DOWN, "Abaxo" },
{ KEY_PAGEDOWN, "Av Páx" },
{ KEY_INSERT, "Ins" },
{ KEY_DELETE, "Supr" },
{ KEY_SHIFT, "Mayús" },
};

Still, I don't know if this change is useful, since (unlike Linux)
Windows lacks a proper implementation of Asturian language. Any advice
is welcome.

Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Translation of the names of the keys on Windows

2013-01-11 Thread Xuacu
Hi

Since we have Asturian keyboard available under Linux, LibO Help is
translated to match such translated keys, so no problem with that.

Hopefully, somewhere in the future Asturian kb will be available as
Unicode standard keyboard, which may ease i18n/l10n work. We are
working on that, and perhaps when CLDR is open again for new data
submissions we can include it.

I also changed related translations, but still have to do a second

About the same for Asturian language. Months starting with a vowel use

Hi Eike, all

Well, let's go!. What I'm trying is

-For long dates, with the name of the day and it's number: «xueves, 25
de xineru de 2034» or «llunes, 12 d'agostu de 2115»

-For long dates, only with the day's number: «25 de xineru de 2034» or
«12 d'agostu de 2115»

-For shorter dates, just month's name without «de» or «d'»: «25 xin
2034» or «12 ago 2115»

-For dates without the number, just month's name: «xineru de 2034» or
«agostu de 2115»

My best guess for that is the attached file, I've included the full
ast_ES.xml and not a .diff since it may be useful for catalan and
galician/portuguese just by adapting months and days names to these
languages. Also I've converted days, months and quarters names to
lowercase following the Asturian Language Academy orthographic rules;
the diff file may be longer than expected ;)

Hi Eike, all

Not so perfect after all. Iñigo Varela, one of the Asturian team
members, noticed that I forgot to add a separator between the month and
the year. It's not very clear for a non-developer like me where to add
it, my best guess is in , but I may be wrong.
This is the line:

 de

And the expected result:
«xueves, 24 de payares de 2011»

Where the first "de" is caused by genitive month and the second "de",
between month and year, is the result of LongDateMonthSeparator.

As an extra test, I send the full ast_ES.xml attached. In case it gets
stripped again, it's available in Dropbox:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13043022/LibreOffice/ast_ES.xml

Thank you!

Thank you for you patience, but I have two more questions before I edit
the file again. The word between and needs quotation marks?
Should I revert to it's default state (i.e.
blank space)?

Tricky indeed for me ;)

Best regards

Hi Eike, all

New (and hopefully last) version of ast_ES.xml available here:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13043022/LibreOffice/ast_ES.xml

I've changed some date formats as suggested by Eike.
Also I've changed some currency formatting tags to display currency sign
after amounts.

Please, review the file and push it in case it's OK

Kind regards

[libreoffice-l10n] LibreOffice 3.5.x - Help for Asturian

2012-01-24 Thread Xuacu Saturio

Hi Andras, all

For the next 3.5.x cycle our team will be working to have LibO Help
translated in Asturian language. Hopefully we'll have an usable help
(50% or more) for the next 3.5.1 release and a decent one (over 90%,
proofread) in a couple more versions.

Can you, please, activate 3.5.x - Help for ast in Pootle?

Best regards!

I agree, indeed. Here's how Asturian team handled this issue (with

We can provide an English translation if you need it, but screenshots

Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Quick poll on QA on your localized version

2012-03-02 Thread Xuacu Saturio

Hi Sophie, this is the answer for the Asturian Team

El 02/03/12 12:02, Sophie Gautier escribió:

Hi all,

This is a quick poll on QA done by your team on the builds in your
language, please take 5 mn to answer:

- Are you doing manual tests on the builds?
. on the RC only?
Yes. Also betas. Tests consist of normal use of LibreOffice with random
documents, and a quick glance at the interface.

. using Litmus?
No

- Are you running other types of tests
No

.which one?

- You are not doing any tests
. because you're not interested
. because you don't have the manpower to run them
. because they are not adapted to your language
. because you're not aware of any test
We are a small team and it's not likely we can improve our testing
unless it's really easy to do it "on the fly". I mean, It would be fine
if we can tell an occasional tester "open this URL in your browser, do
what it says and you're done in 30 minutes". Easy to say, but hard to
code, I know :)

Thanks a lot for your answers :-)

Kind regards
Sophie

You're welcome.

Please, can anyone take care of this?

Fatal errors should be fixed for Asturian now, but it needs a lot of
work to fix tons of other errors (mostly in Help files).

Wikipedia seems our primary source :). The Asturian team is using it
both in Libreoffice and in the Unicode CLDR
