You're right, it's "translations" and not "translate". Anyway, I always connect from pootle.documentfoundation.org, and the trouble was in the jump, where Firefox returned a "Server not found" error. So it's very likely that the problem was in my provider's DNS server. It all works fine today. Thank you.
